What you can do

Supporting development in Africa does not just mean making a financial donation to World Friend projects: each one of us can make a frontline contribution by introducing World Friends to both the small and larger public, involving friends, relations, acquaintances, colleagues, classmates and athletics team members.

The following are a few examples of what you can do:

Are you an Accountant?

If you are an accountant and deal with tax returns IN ITALY, you can suggest to your customers that they earmark 5x1000 to World Friends: a direct way to support our projects in Africa without any cost to the donor. To donate this 5x1000 to World Friends:

1.    Enter your signature in the box “Support the voluntary and other non-profit social organizations, associations of social promotion and associations and foundations that operate in the areas recognized in art.10, paragraph 1, letter a) of Legislative Decree no. 460 of 1997”.

2.    Enter the World Friends tax code: 972 5654 0580


Browsing the web?

Are you an internet enthusiast? Keep browsing our site: post the most interesting items on your social network pages: subscribe to our newsletter (only in Italian) and forward them to your friends. Click on “I like it” on the World Friends Facebook page; look at our videos on Youtube. If you run a website, insert our logo on your home page and at no extra cost you will help to make World Friends known to the public.


Are you into sport?

If you are into sports, maybe amateur or professional, athlete, manager or coach, you can suggest your sports association organizes a fund-raising event for World Friends involving the public to benefit our projects in Africa. And if you really wish to become a true supporter of World Friends, why not put our logo on your sports shirts!


Are you a local administrator?


If you are a local administrator and work for a local authority, you can help World Friends to locate proclamations of decentralized cooperation to identity funds to support our activities in Africa. Get in touch with us on the possibilities offered by these local authorities,  or recommend sponsorships for one of our events organized by volunteers in the local area.




Special celebrations?

Baptism, First communion, graduation, marriage, retirement … so many occasions to celebrate also with Africa! Your purchase of World Friends original souvenirs will support health and schooling for the Nairobi shanty town populations in Kenya. And, if you like the idea,  why not ask your friends to refrain from giving you gifts, replacing them with donations to support our projects in Africa.


Remembering loved ones?

More and more people are choosing to support a development project instead of giving memorial flowers. And even in saddest times, a gesture of solidarity will permit a mother in Nairobi to give birth to a new life.



Do you work in the media world?
If you are a journalist or work in a news agency, you can help to make World Friends and its activities in Africa known to the public at large. An article on the web or in print, a radio or television broadcast, an interview with a representative of World Friends, or support for one of our fund-raising activities, a free publicity space, a web banner describing our initiatives…
So many ways to spread the word on World Friends without encroaching on funds going to projects in Africa!


Are you an entrepreneur?

You are an entrepreneur, running a small-medium-large firm or a retail business, you can help World Friends in numerous ways, such as: distribution of our information material at your workplace or financial support for one of our projects in Africa. At Christmas, choose  a “Solidarity Christmas” with Africa, giving your contacts (employees, suppliers, customers … ) our World Friends calendars and greetings cards.



Do you have any time to offer World Friends?



Become a volunteer with us: You can help to make our projects known to the public at large, reinforcing our staff in awareness initiatives and fund-raising in Italy.

Everyone can support World Friends in taking health and development to Africa with just a few simple actions:

1.    Subscribe to our Newsletter: It will arrive free of charge on your PC and our activities in Africa and Italy will be updated continually.
2.    If you wish to receive the World Friends bulletin (in italian), send us your home address.
3.    Organize a fund-raising event to support World Friends! Invite friends for a solidarity aperitive,  organize a reading group, a cineforum, a concert, a stand at your local  town fair … there are lots of ways to raise funds to introduce World Friends projects to more people.
4.    Make a donation and you will know right away how your money has been used: World Friends has a very streamlined structure which allows us to assign directly to Africa more than 91% of funds raised.  Choose a project to support and World Friends will use your contribution where there is the most need.
5.    Earmark 5xthousand to World Friends: It costs nothing and does not substitute the 8xthousand choice! A no-cost and progressive way to support development projects where dedicated World Friends staff carry out their work on a daily basis (only for Tax Return in Italy)
