World Young Friends in Naiorbi - part II

Last days in Nairobi: World Young Friends go on telling their experience...

Tuesday, 26th January

Treeplanting mission in the Neema Hospital gardens goes on.

But this time we are assisted by a lot of volunteers!!!

Many students and teachers involved in the EFL program help us in planting trees, digging, irrigating… we work all together!

At the end, we share impressions and stories about the protection of the environment, ways of living without producing pollution and how our societies must behave to keep our Earth clean and safe.

We are very impressed by their ecologist spirit!

…and they are very impressed to see white guys who dig and irrigate: for us it’s the first time, and they cannot believe it!

Wednesday, 27th January

Again in Kariobangi to meet EFL staff and share our impressions of the field-visit of previous days. We also see the video shot by the EFL group during the last Public Rally, dedicated to Environment.

Then we go to Neema Hospital to meet Gianfranco for another summit about the whole experience in Nairobi: the balance is more than positive! We hope that, in the future, other World Young Friends will come here to see the projects on the field and learn more about cooperation and WF programs.

Before coming back home, we make the last tour in the hospital, saying goodbye to all the staff.

Dinner at Nzuki’s (AFEMA coordinator) home: his wife Milly and his little boy Gabriel are very kind.

Tuesday, 28th January
The last day in Nairobi… Relax and holiday: we spent all the day in the park of Crescent Island, near to the Lake Naivasha, walking among zebras, giraffes, gnus, in a wonderful savanna landscape!

A very good end of this memorable experience! Before leaving to home, we say goodbye to all our new African friends. See you in Italy, at the next World Young Friends meeting!!.
