'Mbagathi' Project
Surgical activity and training at the Mbagathi District Hospital of Nairobi (Kenya)
Because of its high cost, people living in the slums of Nairobi cannot afford medical assistance: the Mbagathi District Hospital, with its low fees, is the only option for the poor. The level of medical service needs to be enhanced: the project intends to improve the level of medical services of the Hospital through the following activities: surgery (both general and specialist); training courses, on-the-job training for theatre staff, nurses, lab technicians, hospital medical staff; creation of a highly qualified surgical team; follow-up of surgical cases; supplying of surgical equipment and materials; organisation of Stages for training of local personnel.
