Support to income-generating activities for the women in Karare
Background…
Karare is a village in northern Kenya, 20 km from Marsabit and approximately 600 km from Nairobi.
Its population, about 3,000 people, consists for the most part from Samburu and Rendille and Turkana.They are dedicated to nomadic livestock rearing.
Agriculture is limited.
The water area is insufficient, the rains are scarce, often missing. In times of drought, the situation becomes dramatic for the death of animals and hunger among the people.
The women’s situation is very hard, they carry out the heavier work and are forced to suffer many injustices.

Wanawake in Swahili means "Women".
