I am 26 yers old. I came across World Friends 2 years ago, since then I have been working as a social worker in the slums of Nairobi, organizing activities for marginalized groups.

is such a fulfilling experience for me. Seeing people leading better and happier lives is my joy.

In these two years I have seen the changes personally. I remember for example when Grace came last year with her twins, Ashton and Kate: they were a little older than one year, they had rickets and could not even sit on their own. I counselled Grace and assisted her in putting the two kids in the physiotherapy programme. She attended all the sessions of physio and now Ashton and Kate walk like all the other children. In the meantime Grace was trained in tie and dye, to improve her skills and capacity to earn an income for her family. Now, with other mothers of the Afema group, she is producing fabrics and objects which are having a great success in the slum and outside.

I believe in team spirit and I always encourage the members of our groups to come up with innovative and creative ideas that are beneficial to them and the society at large.

My mum had a big part in influencing my life. She raised me and my brothers alone and from her I learned to be innovative and creative, and never to give up.
