The number of patients in the Neema Hospital is ever increasing, that means that the positive trend is going on.
In 2009, the first year in which the Hospital was active in the slums of Nairobi, there were almost 3000 registered patients only in December, 16.735 during the year since the official opening in mid-March.
In 2010 the trend is the same, as demonstrated by the numbers of the first four months: from 3000 patiens in January to 3875 in April, for an amount of 14.081 registered patients.
In view of the oncoming opening of the Mathernity Ward, there are very good news with regard the maternal-child health from the MCH Centre (Mother-Child Health). To date, the centre gives medical assistance to women before and after the child-birth, to prevent the contagion of the HIV , and it gives pediatric care with monitoring of the growth, and gynaecological visits.
The consulting room for the HIV/AIDS test (VCT) and the vaccination centre for babies are also operative.
Up to April 2010, the MCH has registered 527 gynaecological visits and 583 vaccinations.
