Neema Hospital started to accept patients from March and the first results of its interventions are very good, according to what Gianfranco Morino, World Friends founder, said in the last Assembly of Members held in Altare (Savona, Italy) on the 11th and 12th July 2008.

In the first 3 months of activity World Friends staff has registered:

 

125 gynecological examinations at the Health Mother-child centre

46 mothers have been visited at the Health Mother-child centre

35 surgical operations

7 endoscopic checks

12 echocardiograms

40 plastering

84 orthopedic examinations

136 surgical cases

45 patients have been successfully visited by the physiotherapist

1000 patients have been visited in the last month of June


Training of Neema Hospital medical personnel

In the first 3 months of activity, different training courses took place in the Neema Hospital, dedicated to the medical personnel:  

 

A training dedicated to the personnel of the laboratory;

A workshop for health personnel and officers working in gender-based-violence centre;

Case Management training;

Every Thursday all the health personnel of the Neema Hospital is involved in the course of continuous training.

 

Community Based Rehabilitation Programme (CBRB): 

The course started in January 2009; it is dedicated to parents with disabled kids. 3 sessions of training have been held in Neema Hospital; 23 people are involved, assisted by different medical officers.


Prevention training
:

12 persons have attended a training dedicated to “Hiv/aids: prevention, diagnosis, cure”, held in Neema Hospital rooms.


Diagnostic services:

253 radiological examinations

212 ultrasounds

884 examinations in the laboratory
